Visa Requirements
• Citizens of the Nordic countries do not need a visa to travel to Greenland.
• A visa for Denmark does not automatically apply to Greenland. Contact the Danish Immigration Service to confirm your visa requirements.
• If you travel without a valid visa, Air Greenland may refuse you boarding without assuming responsibility for your onward journey.
Passport and ID
• If you are travelling from an EU country, you must bring a passport when entering Greenland.
• You must always be able to identify yourself during your journey and therefore carry valid photo identification, such as a passport.

Transit Permit for Pituffik Space Base (Thule Air Base)
If you are travelling to or from Qaanaaq via Thule Air Base, you must always carry a valid transit permit – regardless of the length of your stay. Passengers without a permit will be refused at check-in.

No Rule Without an Exception
The following persons may stay at Thule Air Base for shorter or longer periods without a transit permit:
• Persons registered as residents in the former Qaanaaq Municipality
• Members of NATO forces and their families
• Civilians deployed by the United States who have work-related business at the base – and their families
• Representatives of Danish and Greenlandic authorities
• Persons with special authorization from the Danish and US governments
