Check-in:
At the new airport in Nuuk, travelers are recommended to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure. After check-in, passengers are asked to go through security immediately. Late arrival or late security check may result in a missed departure. Travelers are therefore encouraged to arrive at the airport in good time.

Security Check in Nuuk:
When the new terminal opened in Nuuk on June 24, 2024, new security procedures came into effect. This meant that passengers were required to arrive well in advance when departing from Nuuk, as all travelers had to go through security checks—regardless of whether they were flying domestically, transiting through Nuuk, or traveling internationally.
Upon arrival in Denmark:
Greenland Airport announces that Nuuk Airport is currently approved for Security Level 2, which also applies after November 28, 2024 when the international runway is put into use. Security Level 2 means that you as an Air Greenland customer should be aware of the following when traveling abroad via Nuuk:
- Upon arrival at your destination abroad, there is no access to the transit area but instead directly to baggage claim by busses.
- If you continue your journey on another flight after arriving at your destination, it is necessary to go through security again.
Greenland Airports expects to achieve the One Stop Security security standard in the summer of 2025, which means that you only have to go through one security check, even if you have connecting flights in other countries.
