Greenland Airport announces that Nuuk Airport is currently approved for Security Level 2, which also applies after November 28, 2024 when the international runway is put into use. Security Level 2 means that you as an Air Greenland customer should be aware of the following when traveling abroad via Nuuk:
- Upon arrival at your destination abroad, there is no access to the transit area but instead directly to baggage claim.
- If you continue your journey on another flight after arriving at your destination, it is necessary to go through security again.
Greenland Airports expects to achieve the One Stop Security security standard in the summer of 2025, which means that you only have to go through one security check, even if you have connecting flights in other countries.
For travelers to Copenhagen, please note that the aircraft will be remotely parked and all passengers will be bussed directly to the baggage claim area.
