Bicycles
The rules below apply to the acceptance of bicycles as checked baggage.
Definition
1 timing belt, single bikes (standard or racing) – without engine.
Accept
Included in the normal free baggage allowance. Normal excess weight payment if the free baggage allowance is exceeded.
Interline
Only through-marking on other companies' routes if accepted according to Interline
Agreement
Reservation in advance
Must be made at the time of booking.
If there is no room for a reserved bicycle due to volume reasons, it will be forwarded to
the passenger as forwarded baggage (RUSH) and delivered by Air Greenland.
Packaging
In order to protect both the bicycle and other luggage from damage, bicycles are only accepted as luggage if the handlebars are turned 90 degrees so that they face the lengthwise direction of the bicycle and the pedals are dismantled. Additional packaging is recommended but not required.
Diving equipment
The rules below apply to the acceptance of diving equipment (Scuba diving) which
checked baggage.
Definition
A set of Scuba diving equipment, consisting of 1 Scuba tank (empty), 1 Scuba regulator, 1 set of tank-carrying harnesses, 1 tank pressure gauge, 1 mask, 2 fins, 1 snorkel, 1 knife, 1 harpoon gun and 1 life jacket.
Accept
Included in normal free baggage allowance.
Normal excess weight payment if the free baggage allowance is exceeded.
ATTENTION! WARNING
If the tank is full, it is treated as Dangerous Goods and may only be transported as air cargo.
Interline
Only through-marking on other companies' routes if accepted according to Interline
Agreement.
Reservation in advance
Not required at the time of booking.
Packaging
No special requirements. The tank must be empty.
Golf equipment
The rules below apply to the acceptance of golf equipment as checked baggage.
Definition
1 golf bag, incl. 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and a pair of golf shoes
Accept
Included in the normal free baggage allowance. Normal excess weight payment if the free baggage allowance is exceeded.
Interline
Only through-marking on other companies' routes if accepted according to Interline
Agreement
Reservation in advance
Not required at the time of booking
Packaging
Nothing but the golf bag.
Angling equipment
The rules below apply to the acceptance of angling equipment as checked baggage.
Definition
2 fishing rods, 1 reel, 1 net, a pair of fishing boots and 1 box for fishing tackle
Accept
Included in normal free baggage allowance. Normal excess weight payment if the free baggage allowance is exceeded.
Interline
Only through-marking on other companies' routes if accepted according to Interline
Agreement.
Reservation in advance
Not required at the time of booking
Packaging
Appropriate packaging is required. Fishing rods must be placed in tubes of impact-resistant material.
Ski and water ski equipment
The rules below apply to the acceptance of ski and water ski equipment as checked baggage.
Definition
1 pair of skis, 1 pair of ski poles and a pair of boots or 1 snowboard and a pair of boots or
1 pair of standard water skis or 1 slalom water ski board.
Accept
Included in normal free baggage allowance. Normal excess weight charge if the free baggage allowance
is exceeded.
Interline
Only through marking on other companies' routes if it is accepted according to
Interline Agreement.
Reservation in advance
Required before departure. But skis are transported on a "stand-by" basis on all aircraft other than: A330
Packaging
Equipment covers are required. Only 1 set of equipment in each cover/bag for the sake of
action.
