The total price of an Air Greenland flight includes various taxes and surcharges. Some of these are determined by the airline, other taxes are subject to legislation and regulations. On some legs of a journey the taxes are higher than the actual cost of the flight.
Fees, surcharges and taxes
The total price of an Air Greenland flight includes various taxes and surcharges. Some of these are determined by the airline, other taxes are subject to legislation and regulations, on which we have to impact or revenue.
When you book a ticket from Air Greenland, we always give you the total price, including all fees and taxes.
Service fee
A service fee per person per ticket will be charged for bookings made through the Call Center.
The servicefee is as follows:
- For flights within/between cities in Greenland: DKK 150 pr. person
- For flights between other countries and Greenland: DKK 250 pr. person
- We don't change any fees for infants below the age of 2.
Change or cancel?
If you have purchased a ticket, change must be made at least two hours before scheduled departure. The fee for cancellation or change is DKK 100, - per. person per ticket.
Standard can be changed against price difference and change fee. Non refundable.
Standard Flex is subject to change or refund
Premium is subject to change based on price difference and change fee. Non refundable.
Premium Flex is subject to change or refund
Takuss tickets cannot be changed or refunded, and if canceled, only unused airport charges will be refunded.
It is free to cancel travel to / from settlements.
Refund of airport taxes
On tickets that are either cancelled or unused the airport taxes can be refunded. Please contact your travel agent, or if your ticket was purchased via Air Greenland´s Call Centre or website, write an e-mail to websupport@airgreenland.gl. When contacting us please refer to your booking number. A fee of 100 DKK will be charged.
Assistance
For travellers to/from Copenhagen Airport the fee for assistance, personal help and service is DKK 6 and is included in your ticket. This amount is determined by the EU.
The service can be limited on certain departures, depending on the number of travellers, who requires assistance.
Air Greenland can, based on individual needs, give a dispensation on the demand of a personal assistant.

NB The above charges are determined by the credit card company in question and are a fixed percentage of the total cost of the journey. Credit card companies can alter their rates at short notice. We do our best to ensure that the rates published on our website are kept up-to-date at all times.
Airport taxes
The airport taxes are determined by Mittarfeqarfiit, Greenland Airports, under the Government of Greenland. The tax is a subsidy for the operation of airports and heliports. On a return flight between Greenland and Copenhagen, for example, the external expenses on which Air Greenland has no influence amount to approx. DKK 950.

Security surcharge
Security surcharge is a tax determined by Mittarfeqarfiit, Greenland Airports, under the Government of Greenland. The tax is charged in all airports. The tax is set to DKK 30 on flights within Greenland. The tax is set to DKK 180 on flights out of Greenland (to Denmark/ Canada/ Iceland).
Fuel surcharges
DKK 200 is charged in fuel supplements on flights between Denmark and Greenland. The supplement is charged for each flight over the Atlantic. The total fuel surcharge will therefore be DKK 400 for a return trip.
