Blind and visually impaired passengers

We want every passenger travelling with Air Greenland to enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.

If you are blind or severely visually impaired, we offer special services and assistance to make travelling easier and more manageable.

Below you will find an overview of your rights and the assistance available to blind and severely visually impaired passengers, so you can feel supported every step of the way – from booking to arrival.

Companion Discount and Booking:

  • Blind or severely visually impaired passengers pay the full fare for their ticket.
  • A registered companion receives a 100% discount on the airfare. Only the administration fee and applicable airport taxes are payable.
  • Companion bookings must be made through Air Greenland's Call Centre via Contact Us or by calling +299 70 12 12.
  • To qualify for the companion discount, documentation issued by the Danish Association of the Blind (Dansk Blindesamfund) or the Danish Social Services Agency (Socialstyrelsen) must be provided.

Travelling with a Guide Dog or Service Dog:

If you have a severe visual impairment, you are welcome to travel with your guide dog or service dog in the cabin.
To ensure a safe and comfortable journey, the following conditions apply:

  • Your dog must remain on a leash and wear a muzzle throughout the flight.
  • The dog must not occupy a passenger seat or obstruct the aisle.

If you are travelling between Greenland and Denmark, we recommend contacting us well in advance to ensure that all required permits and documentation are in place before departure. This allows us to help make your journey as smooth and safe as possible.

Important Information:
Passengers who are both visually and hearing impaired (deafblind) must travel with a companion.

Assistance at Copenhagen Airport:
You can also request assistance at Copenhagen Airport through the travel agency or booking channel where you purchased your ticket.
When checking in, please inform the staff that you have requested special assistance.
