We encourage all travellers to double-check the current customs regulations at the airports.
Customs regulations upon entry into Greenland:
Tobacco products
- 200 cigarettes
- 50 cigars
- 100 cigarillos
- 250 g smoking tobacco
- 250 g chewing or snuff tobacco
- 200 pieces of cigarette paper or cigarette tubes
Alcohol
- 1 litre of spirits over 22% or
- 2 litres of fortified wine (15–22%)
In addition:
- 2.25 litres of table wine (under 15%)
- 2 litres of beer
Beverages
- 2 litres of carbonated soft drinks or caffeinated drinks (over 149 mg caffeine/litre)
- 1 litre of drinking water
Other goods
- 50 g of perfume and 0.25 litres of eau de toilette
- Cosmetics and toiletries up to DKK 1,000
- 4 kg of chocolate and confectionery
- 5 kg of lamb and mutton
Please note: Duty-free allowances for tobacco and alcohol only apply to persons over 18 years of age.

Tobacco

- 100 cigarillos (max. 3 g each) or
- 50 cigars or
- 250 g smoking tobacco
Alcohol
- 1 litre of spirits over 22% or
- 2 litres of fortified wine under 22%
In addition:
- 4 litres of table wine
- 16 litres of beer
Import regulations upon entry into Iceland
Tobacco
- 200 cigarettes or
- 250 g of other tobacco products
Alcohol
(Alcohol only for travellers aged 20 and over)
- 1 litre of spirits + 1 litre of wine or
- 1.5 litres of spirits + 6 litres of beer or
- 1 litre of wine + 6 litres of beer or
- 2.25 litres of wine
Food
- Up to 3 kg of food
- Maximum value: ISK 18,500
For citizens from outside Iceland
Items such as clothing and travel gear that are for personal use and deemed suitable and normal for the purpose of the visit, the length of stay and general circumstances, as well as gifts. Each gift may not exceed ISK 10,000.
For residents of Iceland:
Goods manufactured abroad or purchased in the duty-free shop in Iceland up to a value of ISK 65,000. The value of a single item may not exceed ISK 32,500.
